Hello Stampers ~ I have a gorgeous Feels Like Frost in Seaside Spray creation for you today.
Well I am watching Hurricane Dorian to see if I will need to head out of New Bern. A lot will depend on the track. Right now they are saying the wind will start on Wednesday and the rain will get here on Thursday. If it is far enough off the coast, it won’t be bad. If it hugs the coast it could be more like Florence of last year. Either way I am watching to see if I will be headed to Jess’. In the mean time I am busy making cards and videos for the blog in case I have to head out.
I hope you are enjoying my Feels Like Frost ideas. My goal is to show you that you can use this beautiful paper with what you already have. Today I used some current as well as retired product. I began with the beautiful blue Queen Anne’s Lace looking image. This paper is so pretty and I wanted to highlight it’s softness. I wanted to use a layout that would let me show most of the paper so I had to have a small image. In looking at the designer series paper I thought it would be pretty to add a layer of glitter behind it. Then I remembered I had some of the Velvet Sheets from the last Holiday catalog. I decided to use those as it is so soft and reminded me of the paper. A panel was cut and then the center out of the panel was cut out also as the designer series paper covers it. That is a great way to save on your paper. I attached a panel of the designer series paper that I had cut to include the flower. To me the image in the designer series paper went with the sprig in the First Frost stamp set. I stamped it using the Seaside Spray ink onto Whisper White card stock. I have a clear glitter gel pen and used it to trace the image to give it lots of sparkle. A layer of Night of Navy was used to mount the stamped image on. To add some interest, I took a piece of the Silver metallic edge ribbon and added it to the back of the panel using glue dots. I also added a strip of Tear & Tape to help secure it in place. The image panel was added at an angle to the card front using dimensionals. I took the image from the stamp set that looked like a thistle and inked it up using Seaside Spray. A Night of Navy marker was used to add color to the tips of the stamp. The coordinating dies were used to cut it out. Since I really wanted the head, I used my snips and cut off the stem. The head was added to the image panel using a glue dot. I added a Night of Navy baker’s twine bow for some interest. To finish off the card some rhinestones were added. Here is my completed Feels Like Frost in Seaside Spray.
